Decoding Cellular Signaling to understand tissue homeostasis, treat cancer and promote regeneration.

We investigate how the Wnt family of growth factors and other signalling systems orchestrate tissue renewal and disease. Our work blends functional genomics, protein engineering, and cell biology to build therapies.

    Our research

    From receptor logic to regenerative therapies

    The Angers Lab investigates how Wnt signalling networks control stem cell behavior in development, regeneration, and disease, and how these circuits can be manipulated to create new therapeutic strategies. We develop synthetic, receptor-specific Wnt agonists and antagonists to precisely modulate defined Frizzled receptors, enabling systematic dissection of receptor function in cells, organoids, and in vivo models, and translating these insights into therapeutic applications.

    In parallel, we lead a comprehensive functional genomics program in glioblastoma, applying genome-scale CRISPR-Cas9 screens in patient-derived glioblastoma stem cells (GSCs) to identify genetic vulnerabilities, state-specific dependencies, and mechanisms of therapy resistance. This work aims to define the molecular circuitry sustaining GBM stemness and to guide the development of precision therapeutic strategies for this aggressive brain cancer.
